Rules and Regulations
The following are the rules and regulations of 3rdUTP Team Chess Championship:
1. FIDE rules and regulation will be applied in this competition.
2. A team consists of 4 players with no reserve. The arrangements of the players cannot be changed throughout the event. The competition is open to all.
3. The average national rating for a team should be not more than 1800. The unrated player will be assumed as 1600 for average team rating.
4. Time control for each player is 45 minutes + 30 seconds using Swiss system.
5. Tie-break used are Match Point, Game point, Direct Encounter, Sonneborn-Berger.
6. Slippers and short pants are not allowed during the tournament.
7. Food and drinks are not allowed in the tournament hall.
8. Every participating team will stand the chance to win the main prizes (Top1-5). Only team which fulfilled the criteria could win the prizes designed for certain categories. All participants will receive a Certificate of Participation
9. The overall position is calculated based on the point collected over the 7 rounds.
For each round point will be given as follows:
i. Win –1 point
ii. Draw – ½ point
iii. Lose – 0 point
10. The organizer reserves the right to refuse any entry without explanation.
